His success in the Bollywood music industry continues to date with timeless classics through his collaboration with AR Rehman including Bombay, Roja, Rangeela, Taal, Swades, and Guru. Other notable cinema contributions include Maachis, Khamoshi, Laksyha, Sapnay, and Lamhe. He also formed Colonial Cousins with Leslie Lewis where they revolutionized Eastern and Western music collaborating on 4 albums together. They have won numerous awards, including the MTV Indian Viewers’ Choice award and Billboard Award for the Best Asian Music Group. Aside from his contribution to cinema, Hariharan also has over 30 solo albums, notably the global success of Hazir, Gulfam, and Kaash. Hariharan worked with tabla maestro Zakir Hussain on his album Hazir.
