The company was founded by Nash Patel in 2010 when he first presented and introduced Rahat Fateh Ali Khan into Australia’s entertainment scene. The company has identified a growing interest in music and films from the Indian sub-continent. It aims to bring shows of exquisite quality to satisfy, both the growing population of Indians as well as non-Indians with an interest in Indian music and art.
Shalini Patel, one of the creative directors of Red Chillies, lends her expertise from the professional experience she has in Classical Indian Dance forms. Kartik Mohandas, a media professional with a penchant for excellence, joined the Red Chillies team after its maiden successful 2010 tour of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Founder Nash Patel has been approached on several occasions to be involved in bringing high end Indian entertainment to Australia, but he had always said he would wait for the right type of artist. He states, “I am so proud that one of our first shows was Rahat Ali Khan, this is the quality of musician I would like to see more of in Australia.
He further re-iterates that “Red Chillies Media may do fewer shows each year, but the shows we bring are guaranteed to be high profile artists. We like to ensure our artiste profile fits the way it is presented, we will
not compromise on the quality of the show be it stage, sound or venue. We take pride in our brand’’.
